I don't know how it works for law-enforcement types, but when qualifying pistol for the Navy, offhand shooting is done ONE HANDED. This just boggles the mind. Not only must we reverse stance, etc, but now we've got to use ONLY ONE HAND for Mr. Beretta M-9. We never have to shoot single-handed with our strong hand, for heaven's sake.
But it looks like I'm going to have to lay off the offhand shooting for a bit, at least until my wrist stops claiming it has been maimed. *sigh* I'm bound and determined to practice until I can get a perfect score on the Navy's pistol qual.
